The attic pan tells on the drain before the ceiling does
We still get calls after a Kendall ceiling spots. The attic pan already had a rust tide line. That stain was the leak while the drywall was still dry. South Florida coils run hard and make a lot of water. A slow drain, a tilted pan, or a float that never got tested shows in the pan first. Waiting for the living room is how you pay for finish work.
Cooling that is down because the float opened belongs on A/C repair. Mini-split wall stains are a different drain path under mini-split repair. This article is the attic air handler pan you can still see if you look.
Photograph the pan, the trap, and the overflow
If you can safely see the handler, photograph standing water, rust, and where the secondary drain goes. Note whether the system shut off on a float. Do not keep running a unit that is dumping into insulation. Algae in the primary line is common here. A pan stain after a clean-out still means slope or a second restriction.
Humidity leftover after the drain is open may need dehumidifier services. Whole-house air questions sit under indoor air assessment when odor stays after the pan is dry.
